It was really a whirlwind decision to go, everything was decided at the very last moment, almost not enough time to even take a breath!
After a magical mystery tour of underground music ateliers, my (new manager!) Luciano Cirelli from Karla Otto, found the most fantastical atelier of all... Luigi, a genious, a man who can fix anything with a keyboard, had at least 50 instruments in his underground laboratory. It was like the Magical Mystery Tour meets Alice in Wonderland.. a childlike dream land where anything is possible.
We decided to get me a double keyboard clavicembalo ... German made, antique, stoic, and very solid! With more pedals than I have ever seen on a keyboard before (5 to be precise). But I could not go past the French organs, celesta and even electronic celesta...
Electronic Celesta - I want it! So cool!
So, I was commissioned to perform at the Grand Opening of the Museo del Novecento which opened to public on 6 December 2010. My show was a more bourgeois event, with private sponsors, patrons and of course the Mayor of Milan, Ms Morati...

The stage was at the Pallazo Reale - Salle delle Cariatidi - a beautiful architectural masterpiece, bombed in WWII and not fully restored... the original patina of its torrid history intact, deconstructed, re contextualised and ready for new visions.

A little chat with the Mayor!
Fantastic make-up by Rita Fiorentino (Milan)
These edgy photographic stills are from the footage shot by my dear friend and collaborator Louise Traon (Paris).
Renate Christian also flew in from Vienna, who designs beautiful fabric that I transformed into a magical Mozart inspired modern Dracula-style jacket and shirt, which I also wore at the Life Ball earlier this year (not to mention the opening of Teatro Alla Scala!)
It was a magical evening ...
